Ms. Stacy Akins

Welcome! ♥ My name is Stacy Akins, and this is my fourth year as a school counselor at Highland Park and Webster Elementary. I grew up in Russellville but moved to Muscle Shoals after graduating college in 2006.   I love being a part of such a wonderful community!

My career began in Shelby County Schools where I taught Kindergarten and as a Pre-K teacher in Franklin County Schools. Soon after, I made Russellville Elementary home for 8 years as a teacher and school counselor.

As a school counselor, I support the academic, career, social/emotional development of all our students by working with them in classroom lessons, individually and/or in a small group.  I also advocate for student success using a strengths-based, solution-focused approach through collaboration with teachers, staff, parent/guardians, and the community.  Please contact me if I can assist you in any way this school year!

 Role of the School Counselor

Outside of school, I enjoy learning new things, spending time with my family and my two shelter dogs, Myah and Rhett.  I also have two awesome nephews, Eli and Luke, that attend Muscle Shoals City Schools.
