Welcome to the Hippo Room!

In 2006, I graduated cum laude with a bachelor's degree in Secondary Education, English/Language Arts. In 2011, I graduated summa cum laude with a master's degree in Special Education. Both my bachelor's and master's degrees are from Auburn University. In May 2020, I graduated summa cum laude with my educational specialist degree in the Teacher Leader program from the University of North Alabama. I am also certified in both the early childhood and elementary LETRS programs.  This is my nineteenth year teaching and my ninth year at Howell Graves Preschool. I feel so fortunate to be the hippo teacher at Howell Graves!

I am married to Jeff Whiteside, and we have two daughters; Abby and Sarah are both Muscle Shoals Trojans.  In our spare time, we enjoy traveling, cheering on the Auburn Tigers, and going to the lake.
