I am a native of Tuscumbia, where I grew up on Hawk Pride Mountain. I received my degree in Art in 1999 with a concentration in Advanced Ceramics from the University of North Alabama. In 2002 and 2003 I served as an Artist in Reisdence at Muscle Shoals High School for Mr. Ronnie Riner where I conducted seminars in ceramics and block printmaking for his classes. Working with the students inspired me to go back and work toward my teaching certification.  I was fortunate again to student teach under Mr. Riner at Muscle Shoals.  After receiving my teaching certification, I accepted the position of Art Teacher at Madison County High School in Gurley, AL. where I taught for seven years.  I was honored to receive the position of Art Teacher at MSHS and return home in 2014. I'm married to my beautiful wife, Liz and we have 3 sons, who we plan to see graduate from MSHS.
