Computer Lab with Mrs. Wallace
In the technology lab at Howell Graves, students learn to use Chromebooks and various websites, apps and extensions on the Chromebook such as Reading Eggs, Moby Max, and Symbaloo. We have recently added coding activities to our curriculum through the use of the Kodable website. Students also learn to code robots like Bee Bot, Dot and Dash to perform specific tasks. Keyboarding is introduced through the use of developmentally appropriate programs. Pre-first students actually learn to research topics of interest through a kid-friendly website and create a Google Slideshow to present their research.
Meet Mrs. Wallace!
I attended Northwest Shoals Community College where I earned an Associate's degree in 1988. I graduated from the University of North Alabama with a BS in Elementary Education in 1990. Later, I obtained a Master's degree in Elementary Education in 1992. I added an additional certification in Early Childhood a few years later. In 2009, I obtained National Board Certification for Professional Teaching Standards.
This is my 27th year in education. I taught third grade at Covenant Christian School my first year in 1990. I was hired in Muscle Shoals in 1991. I have taught kindergarten, pre-first, first, second, and fifth grades. I am currently the technology/intervention teacher at Howell Graves Preschool.
