Hello, I am Shannan Greer Butler. I am a proud Muscle Shoals High School graduate after growing up in this wonderful school system. I have a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the University of North Alabama. I have 12 years of teaching experience in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 5th grade self-contained classrooms, and 6th grade ELA in Lauderdale County Schools. After adopting my wonderful daughter, Sophie, from Odessa, Ukraine, I became a stay-at-home mother to her and my two sons, Jordan and Chase. Jordan is an attorney in Huntsville, Alabama. He and his wife, Morgan are expecting their first child, and my first grandchild, in February of 2025.  Chase is a business consultant in Atlanta, Georgia, and Sophie is a student at the University of North Alabama. I am a very proud mother of my three children, and love caring for my two with fur, Louie the Labradoodle and Millie the Cavapoo. 

Now that my children are grown, I am back where I love to be - elementary school. I taught first grade at Webster for the fall of 2022. I then moved to McBride to fill a leave of absence in third grade. Last year, I served as a paraprofessional for 4th grade special education during the 2023-2024 school year. There is no happier place for me to be than in a room full of precious children, so I am very excited to be in the Tiger class this year at Howell Graves.
