A Message from Superintendent Dr. Brian Lindsey
Parents of Muscle Shoals City Schools Students:
Due to the evolving situation related to the global pandemic, our schools will be CLOSED on Tuesday, March 17 and Wednesday, March 18. All schools will be in session on Monday, March 16. Our main priority for Monday is to prepare for the upcoming closure by distributing enrichment materials and digital devices. School staff will also be working with community partners to assemble packages for students with food insecurities. As previously stated, Monday's absences are excused and they will not count toward exam exemptions or perfect attendance. If your child needs a digital device for use during the school closure and you do not plan to send your child to school Monday, you must pick up a device at your child’s school by the close of the school day Monday. By Monday afternoon, we will share a list of resources that your child can access to enrich their learning at home during the initial school closure. Students are NOT required to complete assignments through April 5, but we encourage students to access the resources to keep their minds engaged. If schools are closed beyond April 5, we will communicate our plan for instruction moving forward. If you anticipate needing food during the school closure, please contact your school counselor by noon Monday.
Again, thank you for your patience as we navigate uncharted waters. Stay safe!
Brian Lindsey, Ed. D.
