My name is Melanie Hester.  I am beginning my 13th year at Howell Graves.

I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Educaiton in 2001 from Athens State University.  In December 2016, I received my Master's in Elementary Education from the University of North Alabama.

I am married to Mark and we have been married for 22 years.  Mark is an Engineer for AT&T.  We have two daughters.  Mallie is a Sophomore at UNA, and Maudie is a Senior at MSHS.  My girls both love school, and I am truly thankful for that!  Mallie is an active member of Alpha Gamma Delta at UNA, as well as working at JAR and going to class.  Maudie plays softball for the MSHS Varsity team.  I am also the Cheer Coach for the Muscle Shoals Junior Varsity cheer squad.  We are super busy, but we have a ball supporting each other.

I attend Grace Life Church of the Shoals in Muscle Shoals.  My hobbies include shopping, being with my family, reading, and looking for ways to improve my classroom and teaching.
